BEAUTIFYING SOCIETY.

COMMITTEE MEETING. A general meeting of the committee of the Paeroa Beautifying Society was held in the Coronation Chambers on Monday night. Present: Messrs J. L. Hanna (president), W. Marshall, G. H. Taylor, J. W. Silcock, and the Rev. W. J. Entic'ott, secretary, and Miss Dutton, assistant-secretary. The following nominations were to hand: Presidency, Mr J. L. Hanna. Committee, Messrs W. Marshall, R. W. Evans, J. W. Silcock, E. Edwards, G. H. Taylor, E. E. Gillman, J. L> Hanna, Mrs Hanna, Rev. W. J; Enticott, P. C. Furley, Mrs M. L. Evans. Mr Harina’s was the pply tion for the presidency, and the committee nominees *do not exceed the number required; there are three nominations for the vice-presidency. The secretary reported that there was £lO4 outstanding. He would not be willing to carry on if the subscriptions were not paid up. It was decided that a list should be supplied to the annual meeting of; all unpaid subscriptions. The annual report to be.submitted was traversed. 1 The president reported tliat' Mr R. M. Aitkin, purchaser oif the Talisman mine machinery, had donated, piping for the fencing at the railway, sec-. tion. The committee''wa.s very appre- ' ciative.
