“Could you tell me why you have the worst roads in New Zealand,” interjected a strapge voice at a meeting at Turua on Friday evening. “Ask the'County councillors,” replied the chairman.
“It’s quite unusual to have such a quiet and orderly meeting,” said the chairman at a meeting in Turua on Friday evening, when for some time those present showed no inclination to express their views upon the subject under discussion.
As the Hauraki Plains Rugby Union teams have to make at least seven tours this season and the cost being at least £lOO, each club affiliated with the Plains- Union is holding a dance and handing the proceeds to the Union. The first of these functions was held a,t Ngatea on Thursday evening and realised £9 10s for the Union’s funds. It is expected that the dances in the other centres will In equally successful.
