SWIMMING BATH.
, NEEDED FOR THE SCHOOL. CAMPAIGN IN PROSPECT. Speaking at the monthly meeting of the Paeroa District High School on Saturday night Mr J. Garry emphasised the need of a swimming bath where the school children "Could learn.-’ to swim, instead of endangering their, lives by bathing in.the local,river. It was time the matter was taken up energetically, and ah'' attempt made to raise the funds. The committee deputed Mr Garry to obtain particulars of school shimming baths in other centres. Sergt-Major N. C. Busby said that probably only 2 per cent of the Pae?'o,a, scholars could swim, whereas in Auckland there was only 1 per cent, that could not swim. Mr 0. 0. Gillman suggested that suitable -sites be looked for. Several sites Were mentioned, and it was decided to make an inspection and report tc the next meeting.
