WEDDING.
POLAND—HILL. A very pretty wedding took place recently at St. Mary’s. Church, Paeroa, when Miss Jeff Hill, eldest daughter of Mr H. Hill, of Awaiti, was married to Mr James Poland, eldest son of Mr H. Poland, M.P. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Fathet Dunphy. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a charmingly draped frock of; ivory satin with a handsome Brussels net veil, lent for the occasion by the bridegroom’s mother, and carried a shower bouquet. The bridesmaids were Miss Eileen Poland, whp wore eau de-nil taffeta silk with mob cap of eau-de-nil.’ tulle and silver leaves, and carried a bouquet of yellow flowers, and Miss Amy Hill, .who wore .IMac crepe-de-chine, mob cap of lilac tulle and silver leaves, and carried a bouquet of. lilac flowers. Mr Ivan Pol in'! and Mr Ernest Hill acted' as groomsmen. Mrs Cooke played appropriate music. A reception was held after the ceremony in the Soldiers’ Club, which was beautifully decorated for the occasion, the table decorations being carried out in autumn tints. Mrs Hill, mother-of the bride, received her guests -in black cliar,mouse with gold trimrpings and hat to match. MrsH. Poland, wore a brown gaberdine costume handsomely trimmed with braid, and hat to match.
The happy couple left by the evening train for Te Aroha!, en_ route to Rotorua, where the honeymoon will be spent.
