KAIHERE-KEREPEEHI.

COMMENCING ROAD.

Everything is now in readiness for a start to be made on the formation of a read across the new Awaiti block, which adjoins Kerepeehi to a point opposite the Katherc Landing, where a bridge will be constructed over the Piako River. The road will commence opposite the Kerepeehi Hall, across the Awaiti stream, ani then over the Awaiti canal. It will be a straight road from the canal till it reaches the Piako river again several chains below the Kaiherc landing, up to w.hich it then follows the river. A new Rood machine recently imported, has been assembled, and i-s at present moving into position to commence the road work. It will dig a drain on one side of the road site working from Kerepeehi to Kaihere I landing. It will then retrace its | steps and dig another drain on the other side of 'the road site, the spoil in both cases being deposited in the space between the t,wp drains to help form the road.
