PATETONGA. TELEPHONES., Numbers, of new telephones Have been installed. in the Patetonga district, and for some time subscribers on party lines have been talking with one another. This, .however, is the limit of the 'phone operations at present, and will be so until the Patetonga exchange is erected and the lines connected up. This restricted use of the ’phones is of‘little use to the subscribers, who are waiting for the promised and much-delayed exchange. HALL LIGHTING. Patetonga may justly claim tp have the finest and most commodious hall on the Hauraki but it is lacking in one\particular, namely, lighting facilities. It is evident, also, that other users of the hall must find their own lights, for at a recent meeting the building was very dimly lit with candles, empty bottles serving as candle-sticks. In most other places the hall hire includes the right to use the lighting facilities.
