CHOOSING THAMES CANDIDATE. A circular letter from the sub-pro-vincial secretary, Mr L. H. McAlpine, has been received by Mr Hedges, secretary of the Waitakaruru branch of the N.Z. Farmers’ Union, to the effect that Mr A. A.. Ross has been elected leader of the Farmers’ Party, which is to be known as the Country Party. Mr Ross, the circular will address a meeting of branch delegates to be held at Ngatea on April 22, and will place before the meeting the following “1. Do you wish the Country Party to contest the Thames electorate ? **2. If so, will you support the candidate suggested by your executive ? "3. If not, who do you select as your candidate ?”
