FOOTBALL.
WAITAKARURU CLUB. THE ANNUAL MEETING. The Waitakaruru Football Club hel l .its annual meeting on Monday evening, when about 25 enthusiasts attended. Mr C. Hayward occupied the chair. It was decided to form a club in place of the union which was previously in operation. ~ The colours decided on were blue and black, and it was resolved to affiliate with the Hauraki Plains Rugby Union.
The following officers were elected: Pa'.ron, Mr T. W. Rhodes, M.P.; president. Mr C. C. Clark; vice-presi-dents, Messrs R. T. Williams, W. Stretton, A. McClean, H. Berney, J. Keith, Donaly, A. Wylie, C. Hayward, W. Elliott, Fagan, R. Barlow, Slack (senr.), J. Harris, H. Schwarz, S. Cail ; committee, Messrs P. Williams, A. Otter, F. Stretton, G. L. Griffiths, G. Donaldson, A. Coxhead, and the chairman and secretary; to the Rugby Union, Messrs C. G. Clark and F. Stretton. Mr Hedges resigned the secretaryship, and his successor will be elected at a future meeting.
