FANCY DBBSS MATCH. : i . ■ 1 — The foo.tball clubs on the Hauraki Plains are making an early start this season, and the first, match, a fancy dress game, was played at Ngatea on Saturday. Considering t|hat it was the first match of the s,easom. some really good football was seen. The two teams were captained by A. Banks and Johnson, the latter’s fifteen gaining a narrow win by 8 points to 6. f For the winners Cleave and G. Satchell scored tries, one of which was converted by Johnson. For the losers Haman and Harris each scored unconverted tries. Some amusement, was caused by the appearance of several of the fancy costumes. Among the impersonations were a clown, Maori chief, havd-Aip, "and a lady, but the lastmentioned lost the dress early in the match
