ENTERTAINMENTS.

CENTRAL THEATRE PICTURES ■ TO-NIGHT. “ ACTION.” To be screened to-night is a splendid film entitled “ Action,” with Hoot Gibson, in the leading role. This story has dramatic construction, and moves at a rapid pace. It is acted superbly. There is also a good programme in support THE FAMOUS 1 N.Z. DIGGERS. THURSDAY, APRIL, .6. “ I could listen to them all night,” so said a lady at a recent performance of the Diggers. Such is the verdict of most people who attend the shows given by this talented band of entertainers. Their wonderful successes in eight, different countiries have long given them, the hallmark of excellence. During their several tours of New Zealand they have seen many countries rise and fall, but the Diggers have survived the cold blast of financial depression which has swept the Dominion, and now return to this town with t|he second edition of the M Box o’ Tricks.” The programme contains all new items, and an analysis shows that, although comedy predominates as usual, there is a fine selection of song successes this time. The orchestra is as good as ever, and Stan Lawson seems to become more ladylike (on tihe stage) than ever. The dancing and singing are features in a programme chock full of good things. The box plan is at Flatt’s.
