The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., reports :— At Hamilton on Tuesday last we had ah average yarding, of all classes of stock, the whole of which, with small exception, was, disposed of. Fat sheep were conspicuously absent, only a few rough lots being penned. Notwithstanding the advance in freezing values prices advanced very little beyond the previous week’s values. Forward wethers made tc 16s 6d; very forward and fat ewes 14s 2d ; forward lambs 13s 6d. Ewes in lamb receded somewhat, and a number of lines penned in F.M. made to 12s. Store lambs were too plentiful for requirements. Cattle in general were the subject of better competition, and every beast changed hands. Fat steers made from £6 16s to £7 7s for the best, smaller sorts £4 5s to £5.; best cows £3 5s to £4 ss, others £2 5s -to £3 ; 3 and 3%-year steers £2 17s to £3 7? 6d ; store, cows 17s 6d to £1 10s. Heifers in calf made a decided advance, and .bidding throughout was keen. The quality on the average was inferior. 18mohth to 2-yea T-fold sold from £4 Is to £4 7s, empty heifers £1 10s tp £2 6s ; steers, same age, £1 Is to £1 10s. Pigs were yarded in large numbers, fats opening well, but easihg as the sale proceeded. Values ’ were below the standard of the previous week. The entry of stores exceeded the demand, buyers 0n1y.., competing for good stores and best weaners,, All others were hard to suit. Weedy weaners were practically unsaleable. Baconers made from £3 5s to £3 15s, heavy and light baconers £2 8s to £3, light to medium porkers £1 15s to £2 ss, forward stores £1 10s 9d to £2 3s, slips 12s to £1 4's, best weaners 10s, small and weedy 3s 6d to 5s 6d.
