CENTRAL THEATRE PICTURES TO-NIGHT. "FORBIDDEN FRUIT.” Exerting a powerful appeal that is bound to touch the hearts if its audiences will be "Forbidden 'Fruit,” to be shown at the Central Theatre tonight. This play is the ‘latest creation of the master producer, Cecil B. De Mille. and the story rises in groat dramatic heights in the depiction of the sufferings of a young wife, who, married to a shiftless scoundrel ultimately finds happiness in the love of a real man. The story is by Jeanie Macpherson, who is responsible for jnany of the scenarios of past De Mille suficesses, j L_ THE QUALITY PERFORMERS. TO-MORROW NIGHT. Nothing so ambiguous in entertain-! ment has hitherto been attempted as the Costume Comedy Company to be presented at the Central Theatre tomorrow night by Southwood’s Ideal Attractions, Ltd. This company, in the presentation of this form of entertainment, uses, all the arts known to stagecraft, including gorgeous costumes, magnificent stage settings, orchestral harmonies, lighting effects, and various other decorative arts to give colour and sparkle to the happy faces and rich voices of the company of seventeen English performers, who compose this brilliant and versatile combination. The personnel of the company includes Leonard Nelson, the well-known comedian and entertainer ; Miss Hazel Fuller, soprano, who was recently such a phenomenal success when appearing in Australia with the New’South Wales State Or-, chestra. Another member of the company to gain similar success when appearing with Mr Verbrugghen’s orchestra was Mr Aneurin Morris, the Welsh-Australian, who is said to possess the sweetest lyric tenor voice that has ever been heard in New Zealand. Misses Rose Fitzgerald (contralto), Nell Glynn (soprano), Beatrice' Wenb.an (mezzo), and Annette Lang (danseuse) are the other lady members of the company. The male voices include Wilfred Scott, Harry Webster (bass), and George Sharratt (baritone).
