BOROUGH WORKS.
FOREMAN’S REPORT. The foreman reported as follows to the Borough Council meeting last Thursday: “I have to report that during the past menth the usual maintenance work has been carried out. “I have had Buchanan’s bridge on the Waihi Road pulled up and the concrete pipes put in. This work is now practically finished. Spine of the timber that is of use from, this bridge I will have carted to the Station Road bridge and deck same longitudinally At present this bridge is shaky, but I think that when it is decked as stated it will last for some time to come. “I intend within a few days to have some holes in the Thames Road ati tended to. The last flood washed the surface off the road and footpath on the' Paeroa-Karangahake Road. I have repaired the footpath temporarily, and will spread some tailings on the path and road shortly.’ 1 ’ With reference to the patching of the footpaths, His "Worship said that this matter should be deferred for a month, when the whole question of repairing the paths be gone into.
