SHOW ARRANGEMENTS.
HAURAKI PLAINS ASSOCIATION. ~——4 A meeting of the. Hauraki Plains Agricultural and Pastoral' Association’s committee was held in the Nga-. tea Hal'l yesterday afternoon. Mr PR. Henry and the (following attended D. G. McMillan, C. ~fL Waite, A. R. Vowles, J. H. Carter, W. E. Hale, D. J. O’Carroll, R. Burke, W. McDuff, A. Chatfield, Halliburton Johnstone, and L. Rountree. The meeting was called in order to make final arrangements for the show oa the 18th. The president (Mr Henry) announci ed that he thought the entries would not be as large as last year, though the dairy classes, which were the main issue, were, well represented. The jumping events were, a little short. Seeing that the entries were slow in coming in, he thought it would be advisable to postpone the date of closing until Thursday. Mr Walton said that the grounds had made arrangements for posts ffor the ring and animals for the guessing competition. He had arranged’ a meeting Of ladies to form a ladies’ committee. A meeting to this effect would be held on Saturday. Arrangements were made for refreshments/for the officials, and it was decided to have an entertainment in the evening. In view of the interesting exhibition the Thames Valley Power Board had at the Hauraki A. and P. Show at Paeroa, it was decided to ask' the Board to, make an exhibit at the Plains Show. - ’ A motion of condolence was passed to the relatives of the late Mr E J. Phillipps, whose dpath was announced that morning. ''
