PATETONGA. A DANCE.. About 27 couples enjoyed a very pleasant dance in the Patetonga Hall on Friday evening? The proceeds, about £2 clear, are' to augment the ball funds. Another dance for the hall funds is to be held shortly, while a football dance is also mooted. PARLIAMENTARY TOUR. The Patetonga peope are indignant that they have 'been omitted: from the proposed itinerary for, the Parliamentary tour. The settlers point out that places of lesser importance have been included, while Patetonga is not even mentioned!. There is one gratifying “thought, however, and that is that the Parliamentarians must pass through Patetonga to get to the Northern end of the Plains, sp that the deputations with numerous requests will not be likely to allow th© visitor’s to pass .without being talked' to. PLAINS TENNIS CLUBS. Great enthusiasm! is, being shown by the members of most tennis clubs on the liauraki Plains. There are frequently large numbers of players seen on the Tur.ua courts, while tlie Kerepeehi people are now quite enthusiastic over the game. The Hopai courts are also continually occupied, while a revival is taking place at Ngatea; The return'match, Paeroa v. the Haurakl Plains, is tq eventuate ( at Turua on Monday (Anniversary Day). Five entries have been received for the cup presented by Mr Rpbt. Laidlaw, of Auckland, for competition among the dubs of the 1 Hauraki Plains. Some clubs: have been upable to compete owing to the inability to muster enough, lady members .to pari ticipate in the competitions', for wfhich most of the competing, clubs are > now practising assiduously. A: friendly match between Kerepeehi and Turua' is to be played at Turua next Saturday.
