SCHOOL PICNIC.
NETHEBTON CHILDREN’S DAY. Last Friday was a big day for the Nethertop school children, who were entertained at a picnic held in Mr Farmer’s grounds. The weather was ideal for such an open air gathering, and the children, under the escort of their parents,- made no mistake in arriving at the grounds early in the day. Those in charge of! the proceedings had spared no effort to make the outing’ an enjoyable one and games -Were organised and swings erected. Of course there were the inevitable lolUe scrambles' and running events, in which the children participated with great enthusiasm., • The fojlowing are/ tihe results of the athletic events: Girls—s to 7 years, IA. A dance in the evening terminated an ideal day’s outing, A large nuni-. her of dancers were .present. Music was supplied by Miss Sarjant, Mr P. Cais ley contributing an extra. Mr L. Killgour was M.C. .
