PLAINS SPORTS CLUB.
MEETING AT TURUA. TJie annual- general meeting of ths HaurakyPlains Athletic and Spor.s held in the Victoria Hall on WednSsday evening, Mr G. Gray presiding o/er a fair attendance. The report arid balance-sheet, which kad been submitted to a previous committee meeting, was adopted. Mr G. Gray was re ielected president and Mr J. Gibson secretary. The re* tiring committee was also re-elected, with the addition of Messrs H. Gooqsell, F. Olsen, and W. Elvin (junr.). It was decided to form a working bee on January 21, to finally prepare " the grounds for the forthcoming sports gathering on February 9. It was announced that Mr Allan Bagnall had granted the club permission to procure blocks for the chopping events from his property at Kerepeehi. A hearty vote of thanks was passed tp Mr Bagnall for this kind pffer. The ladies, it was said, had done very valuable work for the clubthroughout the past year, and to them a hearty vote of thanks was passed. A similar motion was carried with reference to the services of the president and secretary.
