Of the 190 pigs received by Mr G. Sarjant at Turua on Monday 15 died owing to the excessive heat, coupled with the- fact that the animals had been fed in the morning prior to be-> ing carted to the receiving depx. Several other pigs are reported to have died in the carts on the way to the depot.

The day of the Hikutaia stock sales (Wednesday) is inconvenient to members of the Thames County Council, as the Council meets on that day. At the monthly meeting this week it was decided to ask the Farmers Auctioneering Co., Ltd., to alter the day of the sale.
