TIMELY ASSISTANCE.
PAEROA AND THE PLAINS. On February, the 4th of next year, the entries for the Hauraki Plains A. and P. Show close, the fixture being dated for February 18. Being a young institution, the Association requires all the support it can get this year, and in view, of the entries from the* Plains for the Paeroa Show there should be no hesitation about cooperating. At the present time, when such great efforts are being made to strengthen the existing mutual interest between the residents of Paeroa and the Hauraki Plains, and which efforts other towns .are striving with great intensity to frustrate, it behoves the residents of the town to assist materially with donations, trophies, and all manner of assistance to make a success of the fixture which, above all others, the Plains people are taking a great pride in.. An appeal for such assistance will shortly be made, and if the response is not generous the Plains residents will perforce come to the conclusion that Paeroa people have “faith without works,” which is of little avail. The coming year will settle for all time which town the Plains residents are going to look to as their chief local centre; let us start auspiciously by ungrudgingly giving help where it is needed, and where assistance will be of benefit to the whole of the Hauraki Plains County.
