COUNTY COUNCIL.
OHINEMURI MEETING. A meeting of the Ohinemuri County Council was held on Wednesday. The councillors are: Crs. A. R. Robinson (chairman), W., F. Johnstone, PGrace, S. H. Morgan, J. Johnson, and A. D. McGuire. The ,latter was absent. -i WAIHI-AVHANGAMATA. ; Mr Palmer/ secretary of the Whangamata Settlers’ Association, wrote pointing out that the contractor for the road work said there was np provision made for culverts. The engineer, Mr E. Shaw, said he had gone to the limit of the grant; the road was of! a good grade, though small bridges were ,wanted. However, the Ohinemuri portion of the road would be useless until the Thames County Council had completed its port tion. However, there was a Mines Department grant in view, of some £4OO, and timber could probably be secured locally. FINANCE. The overdraft was stated at £5816 16s. •_ The usual seasonable compliments concluded the meeting.
