Coates, has decided, in view pf the differences of opinion in the special rating area, and reflected in the attitude of the local bodies concerned, that another poll must’be taken. .The original poll to borrow £20,009 ftjr >he construction of the bridge was taken on March 26, 1920, and the ratepayers in the special area carried the loan proposal by 94 votes to 53 Since then the Hauraki Plains County has been formed, and the special area is not now under the control of one local body. If a new poll is taken the proposal with its amended, financial stipulations, will be the issue submitted to the ratepayers.— Thames “Star,”
