EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING A meeting of the executive commit,-, tee of the Hauraki A. and-P. Association was held on Saturday night., Present : Messrs J. A. Reidr (president). Edwin Edwards (secretary), J. Silcock, W. J. Johnstone, J. P. Findlay, A. White, R. Whit.ten P. R- Hubbard, C. Stembridge, W. Marsh. JERSEY BREEDERS’ CLUB. The following 'letter was received from Mr V. Dunlop, the Thames Valley Jersey Breeders’ Club: “At. a meeting of my Club it was decided to donate £4 for the Jersey group, and that the balance of the money be divided among remaining pedigree Jersey classes in the proportion of £1 for Ist prize, and 10s for second prize, .the subsidy from the N.Z. Jersey Breeders’ Association 'o be added in the same proportion. “A resolution was also passed suggesting that your Association provide a cup for the Jersey group.” The president explained that it was intended to give prizes in. the different, classes as m previous years. -The prizes for the Jerseys would be the same as formerly, except that the Club would subsidise the various prizes... It was decided to write thanking the Club for its donation. AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION. The Association was asked by the Auckland Education. Board to foilward the following resolution to the Government : “That the Government be urged to make immediate provision for the establishing of a farm school or college at Ruakura Government Farm of Instruction, on the lines outlined in the report on agricultural education as submitted by the Auckland Education Board.” Mr A. White said he was not altogether in favour pf Ruakura being the only school, as the place was not representative of the soil and conditions usually found in this country. He thought agricultural instruction would be more informative if .there were small experimental farms in different, parts of the country ; in this district, for instance, it would be possible to experiment in both hilly and swamp lands. The most important point in agricultural farming was in kn.owing how to treat various classes pf soil. After further- discussion the resolution was carried. JUDGES. It was announced that Mr H. E. B. Watson (Christchurch), official de- • monstrator pf the N.Z. Jersey Breeder’s Association, would judge the Jerseys .at the Shpw, and also give a demonstration. Friesians. —Mr G. M. Watts, of Cambridge,. Shorthorns.—Mr A. Green, of Ruakura. Ayrshires.—Left. open. Draught Horses. —Mr S. Grant, of East Tamaki. Light Horses. —Mr Maurice Crimmins, of Waikiro. STEWARDS. It. was decided that the president and the chief stewards sh'?”ld have power to appoint the stewards for each breed, the latter to appoint their own assistants. Mr E. Fathers is chief steward for the light horses Mr W. Marsh for heavy horses, Mr J. Hamilton for the catt,le. NO HORTICULTURAL SL( TION. The secretary, reporting n the proposal for a horticultural section, said he had been unable to get a mail who would be prepared to Uke charge o* such a section. Also, Mr Cullen was putting the Refinery up for sale, and - therefore there were not good prospects of getting that huil ling —Decided to drop the matter. REFRESHMENT BOOTHS.

The secretary was instructed to call a meeting of ladies to ascertain their views on the matter of refreshment booths.
