MATATOKI.
HARD-UP DANCE.
A ’ihrd-up danc,e, promoted by the Ma,t,atoki Social Committee, was held in the hall at Matatoki on Wednesday evening. Most of the dancers were very originally attired in hard-up rig. Miss E. McGregor was elected, with 22 vo.tes as the most originally, costumed lady, and Mr R. Fisher, with 17 votes, won the gentleman’s prize The supper, consisting of plain fare (tea and baker’s buns) was a repast quite in keeping with the costumes—“ard up.”
Mr Albert Williams rendered his usual bright music, and Mr C. Millan was M.C. It is understood that several more dances are io be held by the club before the season closes.
