(“Gazette” Staff Reporter.) ( WAITAKARURU. DRAINAGE WORK. Good progress is being made by the dredge since the cessation of work caused by the breaking of a shaft. The dredge is now situated two miles up the Waitakaruru canal. NEW WHARF. The Lands Department is pushing ahead with the erection of a new wharf about three-quarters of a mile below the. present town wharf and near the traffic bridge over the Waitakaruru canal. When finished this new wharf will undoubtedly be. a decided asset to the settlers.
