GOLF.

The lady members of the Hamilton Golf Club played a match with the Goldfields ladies on the Paerpa links on Wednesday, the 28th inst. . The visiting ladies were enthusiastic in their praise of the local links, which seemed to be a distinct surprise to them. The praise was particularly directed to the putting greens, which have been put in excellent order,. The match resulted in a win by a very substantial margin for the Goldfields ladies, and the results are as follows, the Hamilton players being placed first throughput: Mrs Hay defeated Mrs Miller, 7 up .and 6 ; Mrs Bray defeated Mrs Bush, 5 up and 4 ; Mrs P. Stewart Ipst to Mrs Flower, 2 up ; Mrs Walshe lost to Miss Price, 8 up and 7; Miss Stevens lost to Mrs Kenny, 1 up; Mrs Mackay lost to Mrs Hunger, 1 up; Mrs E. J. Stewart lost to Mrs Halligan, 3 up and 5 Mrs Storey lost to Miss Walmsley, 7 up and 5; Miss York lost to Mrs Bell, 8 up and 6 ; Mrs Hume lost to Mrs McGlashan, 4 up and 3; Mrs Fraser los£ to Mrs Gileson, 6 up and s’; Mrs F. Bond lost to Mrs Malyon, 1 up ; Mrs Masters lost to Mrs Budd, 3 up an 2; Miss Mackay lost to Mrs Clark, 6 up and ’5 ; Mrs Whyte lost to Mrs Edwards, 5 up and 4 ; Mrs Cochrane lost to Miss Pouhgrain, 2 up and 1; Miss Tully lost to Mrs Edwards, 8 up and 6. A foursome was played in the afternoon, and resulted in a tie between Mrs Hay and Mrs Wilson, and Mrs McGlashan and Miss Poulgrain, with a net score of 42. Luncheon and afternoon tea arrangements were carried out by the Goldfields ladies, and considerably added to the pleasure of the day’s outing. The monthly medal for both men and ladies will take place to-morrow.
