CHILDREN’S PARTY.

Mrs R. H. Mackenzie gave a children’s party at “ ” on Saturday afternoon, to celebrate the 10th birthday anniversary of her iattle daughter Rhoda. The invitations were confined to the fail' sex, the “mere male’’ being left out of the argument, and about 14 little girls rolled up in their best spring dresses, with smiles on their faces, and all* aglow with excitement. Miss Jessie Mackenzie, in a brown snake dress, helped her mother to arrange the “spread,” and when all the young ladies were comfortably seated round the tempting culinary display the honoured one, with eyes a-sparkle, cwt the cake, and the subsequent “fall-on” was symbolical if whole-hearted appreciation. After tea the little fairies raced off to the lawn, where games and competitions were participated in. Towards dusk the little lassies took their several 1 ways home —tired but happy. Miss Rhoda was the recipient of many nice presents..
