INSTALLATION ON I’LAINSi. In a lettei’ of apology for his nonattendance at the conference a,t Ngatea on Saturday, Mr F. H, Claxton gave a brief outline of .the works proposed. The following is an extract : “As soon as the country is drier the poling will start from the present stopping place (Ne.therton) towards Turua, and the engineers have been instructed to furnish a report pf all requirements necessary to take full advantage of the coming summer in the soft country on the Plains.”
