WAIKINO NEWS.
WAIKINO FOOTBALL CLUB. ("Gazette” Correspondent.) A complimentary dance and social was given to the ladies of Waikino cn Friday last in the Victoria Halil by the Waikino Football Club. The dancing commenced at 8 o’clock, Mr Cater’s orchestra being in .attendance. The floor was made good for the function, and the hall and supper-rpoia were beautifully decorated. There were over 80 couples present, the M/sC. being Messrs E. Keohan (their wor.thy secretary) and W. Quin. Extras were played by Miss J. Shaw. There was also a. euchre tournament for two valuable prizes, the winner for the lady’s prize being Mrs Peter Shaw, and forthe gentleman’s prize Mr W. Bartlett. At 11 pern. all adjourned to supper, after which several more dances took place until the early hours of the morning.
