CRICKET.
LADIES’ CLUB FORMED. A meeting of ladies interested in cricket was held on Friday night, when there was'' a very good attenance of enthusiasts. ' ’ It was decided to form a Ladies’ Cricket Club with an .annual subscription of 10/-. Mrs Poland was elected president, and Mrs G. A. Btfsh and Mrs G. H. Taylor vice-presidents. The secretary, -Miss K. Poland, was authorised to procure necessary gear. It was decided to agree to the Men’s Cricket Club’s suggestion to hold a dance in aid of funds, both clubs to share the proceeds. Details were left to the cpmmitt««.
Seventeen ladies have signified their - intention to join the club, and it is hoped that it will be possible to run two elevens.
Messrs Bishop and Furley were present at the meeting in order to advise the ladies as to the gear necessary, and to assist in other matters.
