SOCIAL AND DANCE.

("Gazette” Correspondent.)

A social and place, on Friday last in the Victoria Hall., in aid of funds for the Roman Catholic Church. There were py.er 70 couples present, including friends .from kavangahake, Paeroa, and WaihL. . The dance opened with a waltz, the music being supplied by Mr C. Cater’;; orchestra. The duties of- M.C. were in the capable hands of Mr Ted. Keohan. A euchre tournament also was held. The winner of the lady’s prize was Mrs Cap, Miss R. Kinsella winning the second prize. Mr Maur-' 1 ice Crimmins carried off the pyize for gentlemen. At 11 p.m. all adjourned to supper, which was well catered for. , The extras were played by Miss J. Shaw. The function finished :at about 1,30 a.m.
