MINERS’ HALL—TO-NIGHT A fine Lubin Star subject is being featured on the programme this evening, in which life is being depicted as a game of cards. This picture is entitled “ A House of Cards,' 1 and is magnificently staged and acted. It is quite an unusual story andas the cards are shufied and dealt the various hands disolve into the action on the screen. For sheer originalty of treatment, this drama is a noteworthy picture and should be seen by all movie fans. The supporting dramas, comedies, and war budgets are quite up to standard, and will maintain interest throughout. The pi blic aie cordially invited to spend a pleasant two hours in viewing this programme. For Saturday, Mr Calder announces a big London star film entitled “ Sons of Satan. The scenario of this play was written by the famous William Le Quex and filmed by the London Film Company, whose productions have all proved to be of very great merit. The play is really a mirror which reflects not only the surface ot society, but the tilings below it, and is intense in its human appeal. A good supporting programme provides much variety including scenics, cartoons, war gazette, anil several goed comedies. Amongst the latter is a very gooil laugh promoter entitled “Caught in the Park,” which feature the well-known Syd. Chaplin of Keystone fame. Patrons are advised to be seated early, owing to the length of this Magnetic programme. Those wishing may book their seats at McNee’s. Usual midweek change oil Tuesday next.
