Methodist Social.

On Wednesday evenihg last in the Supper Room of,the Miners’ Hall a most enjoyable Leap Year Social was held. The same was organised by the Young Ladies of the Methodist Church for the purpose of raising funds to reduce a debt, the church having recently undergone renovation. The chair was taken by Mrs Hooker and various items were given by Miss Vera Russell, Miss Hooker, Mrs Bright, and others. Many games were indulged in until 11 p.m. Competitions also forming part of the Programme. The success of the social reflects great credit oil the members of the committee, Misses Holden, A. Sutton, M. Carlyon, G. Hocker, D. Mayland, and H. Sheeran, also the secretary Miss M. Sutton. There were about eighty present and the Church Fuads should benefit as a result of the entertainment.
