Combined Sunday School Picnic.
The preparations for the an- ! nual combined Sunday School Picnic are well forward, and given the fine weather which is promised, there should be a record gathering to-morrow afcross the river. The public hardly need reminding that the picnic is free to all, and that the bigger the crowd the better will the committee be pleased. Owing to so many departures, there is at present rather a shortage of male teachers, and the committee would be glad of the help of anyone who is willing to assist in making the day a happy one for the children. Owing to various causes, it has been decided not to give so many prizes this year, but in other ways it is expected that the picnic will be quite up to, or even beyond any previous one. One advantage of having the picnic in Mr Harris’ paddock, is, that people can come and go at whatever time they like. The committee hopes ts. see, not only all the Sunday School children, but also a large gathering of their parents and friends.
