Lyceum Pictures.

MINERS’ HALL—TO-NIGHT The chief attraction to-night will be the grand final of the Chaplin competitions. The winners of the two previous heats will again impersonate the popular Charlie, and the audience as before will be asked to select the winner of the guinea prize which is being presented by the management. This competition is a decided novelty, and is creating quite a lot of local interest. A big attractive programme of pictnres will of course be screened, the star feature being Vitagraphs society success “ The Butterfly.” An extra budget of war topics pourtraying the doings of the Allies in Alsace and the usual topicial Budget will prove interesting. Extra dramatic subjects, cartoons and a good keystone entitled “ The Beauty Bunglers" supply the balance of a popular collection of photoplays. Patrons should not miss the Chaplin Final. For Saturday Mr Calder has much pleasure in presenting Edisons supreme masterpiece “ The Stoning ” This is a 3 act feature of pathetic power starring Miss Viola Dana and teaches impressively the old axiom “ Judge Not” The stoning is imbued with the spirit of sincerity and truth and will surely reach the warm sympathies and soften the hearts of all. The supporting progamme is of the popular order consisting of war subjects from Europe, scenics, cartoon comedies and farce comedies. Amongst the latter is a very good keystone entitled “ A Halted Career ” whilst Cartoons in a Barbers Shop will provide a distinct a distinct novelty. Seats of Dress Circle may be reserved as usual at McNees. The mid week change of programme as usual next Tuesday, further particulars of which will be advertised at the theatre.
