School Examinations.

An examination Standard VI pupils for proficiency and competency certificates was held at the Public School by Dr. J. McIlraith on December 9th. Some 34 pupils sat, of whom 20 belonged to the Public School, the remainder coming from other schools in the district. The re suits of the local school are to hand, and these show that a high standard of work has been reached, for the twenty candidates all passed, eighteen gaining proficiency, and two competency. We congratulate Mr Garland on his successful year’s work. The names of those who gained proficiency certificates are as follows : Harry Allan, William Aston, Bessie Earby, Bert. Edwards, Harry Fraser. Doreen Gleeson, Leslie Hall. Ethel Jolley, Laura Kelly, Eunice Leather, Roy Mathews, Emma McLean, Andrew Paterson, Chrissie Paterson. Alex. Rea, George Raynor. Alan Turton, and William Wesley.
