Missing Recruits
The following notice has been posted up by the Defence Authorities : “ The undermentioned men have been notified to assemble to go into Camp and have not responded to the call. In order that these men may not be deprived of the opportunity to serve their country in consequence of not having received their notice calling upon them to parade, it is hoped that anyone who may know the whereabouts of the men concerned will inform them accordingly, so they may have an opportunity to report at this Office.” This notice is published so that residents of Huntly and surrounding district may have an opportunity of helping those recruits who evidently do not know that their time to appear has arrived, by informing them of the fact. The list is a fairly long one, but we have taken out only the names of those whose addresses are given as Huntly or surrounding districts. The names are : W. Collins, Post Office,{Huntly. M. U. Lewedon, Huntly. H. P. Nicholson, Huntly. A. Eaves, Taupiri, Orini. A. Hamilton, o/o Mrs Rutherford, Taupiri.
