The gross result of the Sick and Wounded Benefit given at the Miner’s Hall on Tuesday October sth by the Pickanny Coons and the Lyceum Picture Company amounts to £2?-15-6d. Expenses amounting to £2-16-9d which consist of hall rent, printing tickets and dodgers and hire of wigs are being deducted from this amount which leaves a nett sum of £24-18-9d. This amount has been handed over by Messrs Carmody and Calder Hon. Secs., to Mr F. Harris (Town Clerk) and is to be placed to the credit of the Sick and Wounded Soldiers’ Fund. The Waistcoat Fund it is understood is already fully subscribed or promised.
