Red Cross Social.

Below is given a balance slice! of the Red Cross Social which was held recently in the Miner’s Hail. The social was organised by a committee at the head of which was Mrs Mathews. Much assistance was rendered by Mrs and the Misses Tapp, who besides assisting in the organisation, gave a cake and a pair of socks which were the subjects of gut-»ing competitions which helped materially to make the social a success. The net result of the social is, that the sum of ill 2 3d. has been added to the fund.

The receipts and accounts have been cheeked by Mr F. Harris, and he has certified that they' are correct in every particular.
