The 1.0.0. F. Ball.

The Annual Ball of the local Lodge of Oddfellows was held in the Miners’ Hall last evening, proving a great success. There were about seventy couples present. The Hall presented quite a brilliant appearance, being nicely decorated with bunty etc. At 8.30 the ball was opened 1 with the Grand March, led by Mr and Mrs Rennie, and dancing was kept up with vigour until supper time. The supper was up to the usual high standard and was done ample justice to by those present. The ladies in charge are to be congratulated on the success of their efforts in this department. After supper, dancing was continued with unabated vigour until 3 a.m. when the function came to an end, and the Oddfellows Ball of 1915 became a pleasant recollection. Much of the success of the ball was due to the excellent condition of the floor, the excellent music provided by members of the Huntly Orchestra assisted by Mrs Brooks and Mr Dyer, who each played extras, and the indefatigable efforts of the M.C’s Messrs R. Fairhurst, W. Brown, V. Earby and Muncaster who also were assisted by members of the committee, who left no atone unturned in their efforts to see that their guests fully enjoyed themselves.
