Patriotic Demonstration.

A Grand Patriotic Demonstration was held iu Huntly on Sunday last. Members of theOran,.e and Oddfellows Lodges in regalia, together with Huntly members of the Territorial Forces headed by the Huntly Band, marched 'from the Post Office to the Recreation Ground, where they were formed up in a hallow square round a platform which had been erected. The meeting which was there held under the chairmanship of Mr J. P. Bailey, Chairman of the Huntly Town Board, was opened v ith a short service conducted by the Rev. W. A. Watson. Short addresses on various aspects of the War were given by Messrs J. P. BaileyRev W. A. Watson, and Hooker. Lieutenant Ansell closing the meeting with a short address from the military point of view. Before the procession marched away, all stood uncovered while the National Anthem was sung. During the afternoon, a collection was taken up by' the members of the Ladies Committee, for the Sick and Wounded Fund, the amount realised being £l7 2/6MThe whole demonstration was under tho capable direction of Lieutenant Ansell.
