District News.

WAIKOKOWAI. (Own Correspondent.) With the approach of winter’ people are beginning to organise the usual evening amusements, and the usual Euchre Parties and Dances will be resumed here tonight. Visitors to the District this week have included Miss Jamieson and Mr and Mrs D. Healey and family. T?’-, Mr Jamieson has had the tnisfortune to lose a very old friend, his black pony, which died last Sunday. Messrs. Briggs and Murch are making good progress with the erection of the new residence for Mr A. McKinnon.

Feathered game is fairy plentiful in this district and sportsmen hero are eigerly lookforward to the opening of the shooting season.
