Huntly Sports Club
A meeting of the Huntly Spcrts Club was held last evening in the King’s Hall, Mr J. Elliot presiding. It was annonneed that a special train would leave Auckland at 6.10 a.m on the morning of the sports, carrying passengers for Huntly. All arrangements for the carrying out of the sports were reported to have been made, and only propitious weather is now required to ensure a most successful gathering. It should be noted that it is B. Ruston who has accepted for the 75 yards open handicap, and not W. Ruston, as printed m the programmes. Correspondence with the Directors of the Taupiri Coal Mihes Ltd. was read. This correspondence had reference to the movement for obtaining for Huntly, a more up-to-date Recreation Ground, and the outcome of the negotiations is, that the Directors have agreed to receive a deputation on the subject.
