MINERS’ HALL. The management draw patron’s attention to the popular programmes which are being provided for them this week end. This evening Edison’s screaming farce play “ When the Men Left Town ” will be shown. It depicts the conflict amongst city councillors and how the ladies managed things in general the situations being extremely funny. The Padrone’s Plot (in two parts) support the star comedy and strikes a powerful blow at the methods which compel the workers for the sake of their wives and families to continue in the struggle for existence against great odds and oppressions. A special war film entitled “ With the Allies in Flanders ” will also be screened it shows the late Lord Roberts being removed from the house where he died in France and also the procession. The balance of the programme is of the popular order and will comjinand the approval of everyone. A grand change will be screened on Saturday, the star feature being a pathetic child actress drama entitled “ The Inspector’s Story. This story contains a fine moral and should be seen by all, its realism being very intense. A fine film showing the Davis Cup competition, the blue riband of the tennis world will be shown, also the Gaumont Graphic which contains the latest war news. Comedy is well represented in “ Heeza Liar’s Big Game Hunt,” a cartoon specialty, and “ Max on the Briny,” which is featured by the popular Max Linder Other choice subjects complete a superb programme. In addition to these Mr Manning will sing the latest mining song entitled “ Down in the Depths,” which no doubt will be well received. Bumper houses are being provided for and reserves may be booked at McNee's.
