Huntly Poultry & Kennel Club.

A committee meeting of the ■above club was held in the Supper Room of the King’s Hall •on Friday evening last. Present: —-Messrs H. H. Sissons (presiding), C. Starr, W. Thomas and G. Tucker (secretary). The minutes of the previous meeting being read and confirmed, the following correspondence was dealt with. From M. A. Alltngharn, Pukekohe, re schedules. From Mr P. S. Smith, Honorary Secretary of the Norse wood Kennel Club,

notifying t’ne Huntly Club that Bull Terriers and English Sheep Dogs have been allotted to the Challenge Classes for the Huntly P. and K. Club for next show.

Messrs H. H. Sissons and the Seer etary were authorised to sig a cheques on behalf of the Club.

Mr Thomas brought forward the question of holding another Art Union this year, and pointed out that if the Club intended doing so, it was time to go into the matter and to get the tickets out as early as possible so as to ensure success.

After discussion, it was decided that the matter be held over for a fuller meeting to deal with.

A discussion of the judges to be appointed for the forthcoming show resulted in a motion by Mr Thomas, seconded by MtC. Starr, “ That the Secretary be instructed to write to Mr Johnson, of Palmerston North, asking him if he would act as judge in all classes of poultry; also to Mr Hunter, asking him to judge all classes of dogs. The motion was carried.

A proposition, “ That all orders in connection with the show must go through the secretary’s hands was put and carried. On the motion of Mr C. Starr, seconded by Mr W. Thomas, it was decided that a meeting to be advertised in the PRESS, be held in the King’s Hall Supper Room on Wednesday evening, March 24th, at 8 p.m., to arrange the date of the show, and to consider the advisability of holding an Art Union in connection with the forthcoming exhibition. The annual subscription for members of the club was fixed at 5 shillings.

The secretary was empowered to proedre all books and stationery necessary to carrying on the business in connection with the show,
