District News.
WAIKOKO WAI. (Own Correspondent) Farmers are now busy sowing their burns and the land they have managed to get worked up. The dry weather lias militated against the working of the ground so much that there will not be a very large area of land to sow. Some of the swedes in the district are a picture to look at and the rain this week should ensure a record crop. Mr A. Naylor has an exceptionally fine crop of onions this year. The soil out here must be specially suited for onions, as many good crops have been recorded before, Mr G, Brown being noted for his success in this direction. It is understood that the Raglan County Council is going to guarantee the money required for the installing of the telephone service to the Rotognaro P. O. Hares are getting rather plentiful in this district and are becoming quite a nuisance to ; farmers. Master Kenneth Tapp, who has been very ill, is now quite I recovered.
