The Fishing Season.
As was anticipated by anglers the fishing season of 1914 opened more auspiciously than its predecessors for several years back. For some time the “speckled beauties *’ have been seen disporting themselves in various parts of the river, but especially in the vicinity of the bridge. Before 9 a.m. on the opening day Mr A. Crowder had no fewer than six fine trout in his bag, Mr J. flmchcp. three,and others two or ot one, numbers being increased as the day grew older. Messrs. C. Siarr and J. Young, N. Barry and N. A. Elliot were also among the successful fishermen. The t-pout caught were in excellent played gamely, and. when c > k*' I, proved most toothsome.
