Social and Presentation.
On Friday last the friends of Miss C. M. Jory met : t a Social in the Methodist Church to bid her farewell prior to her removal to the Birkdale School. The large number present testified to the high esteem in which Miss Jory is held in Huntly. The Rev. M. J. Evans, and,Mr E. W. Sheeran spoke as to the - good work done by Miss Jory and the loss which the church was sustaining, the former, on behalf of the congregation and friends presenting a purse of sovereigns, together with the best wishes of all, for her fulure welfare. During the evening, solos were sung by Mrs. Norman, Miss. Palmer, and Mr. George, and recita ions were given by Miss Sybil Leather and Mr Lawn. At the close refreshments were handed round and a pleasant evening was closed by singing “God be"with you till we me t again. ”
