Huntly Bridge.
Work on the subway under the Huntly Bridge is proceeding apace, the work of bricking the sides being well in hand. The sumps which are to collect the water at the lowest point of the subway are almost completed. These will each be furnished with three gratings over the inlets, so that there will be little fear that they will ever get blocked, and in addition a movable top will be provided, so that the sumps may be easily cleaned out. The Town Board is lowering the road by some feet ateach end. This will materially ease the pull up the hill each way. Since the sides were battered down and the brickwork commenced, the cutting has assumed a much more attractive appearance, and it is evident now, even to the untrained eye, that the road when finished will fulfil all purposes required of it.
