Mr N. Green well was in Huntly last week end. Mr Gavin, Inspector of the Public Works Department, visited, Huntly on Tuesday. Mr A. H. Geary has been appointed caretaker of the District School at an annual stipend of £49. Mrs A. G. Fraser, Young’s Point, Otamatoa, is at present on a visit to Mrs E. W, Sheeran, Glasgow Street. Mr G. Miller, it is stated, has resigned from the conductorship of the Huntly Brass Band, a position which he has held with much acceptance for several His services, which have been highly appreciated will be gratefully remembered. Hissuccessor is Mr D.Wentworth The interest which Mr J. Furniss, of Ruawaro, takes in local matters was well illustrated last Saturday when, although he has only one child attending the school, he travelled six miles to bake part in the bee got up for the purp >se of clearing the playground of the Waikokowai district School.
