Easter Services.
ST. PAUL’S CHURCH. A band of willing helpers assembled in St. Paui’s church on Saturday, and decorated the church beautifully for the Easter services. As Easter Sunday fell on the second Sunday in the month the Vicar was only present at the 8 a.m. celebration of Holy Communion. The lay readers, Messrs McCalman and F. Harris took mattins and evensong respectively. At 11 a.m. the Vicar was at Taupiri, and there also the church was tastefully decorated. At 3 p.m. he was at Te Akalea and loving hands had transformed the dingy littie school room into something resembling a church. There was not ser ting accommodation for all of the congregation. At Ngaruawahia the services are held in the library during the building of the new church, and on Easter night it was barely large enough to hold all who came. The attendance at all the services was well above the the threatening day.
